MIRAI COLD is the refrigeration machine for the sustainable generation of Ultra-low temperatures. Our machines are particularly efficient at producing temperatures from -40 ° C to -110 ° C in a single cascade and can control with an accuracy down to 0.5 K and adjust steplessly. The refrigeration system transfers the waste heat directly to cooling water. No additional refrigeration system is required for efficient operation.
The machines can be operated as an open circuit for direct cooling of the air or as an indirect closed system with the inert gas nitrogen. The advantages of the open cycle refrigeration can be found below.
The technical basis of our machines is the air cycle refrigeration technology.
This is a reverse Joule cycle with air as a refrigerant. The air is compressed and expanded after cooling in a series of heat exchangers. By repeating compression and expansion cycles, Ultra-low temperatures can be reached and maintained down to -130 ° C (optional).

All machines are supplied as stand-alone units with required insulation and removable housing cover. The devices have an integrated control cabinet including a compact controller with the fast real-time bus system and EtherCAT master. The HMI is a touch display IP66 (front) is used. Optionally, various slave interfaces or a higher-level master control are available.
For devices with an open air circuit, there is also a specially developed air de-humidification system available. Thus, the refrigeration machines from Mirai meet all legal, environmental and procedural requirements in order to sustainably optimize your application.
Mirai Cold in an open refrigeration cycle configuration comes with our innovative humidity extraction system, making defrosting a thing of the past.
One of the key features of the technology is, that the turbo-expander is located on the same shaft as the turbo-compressor.
The energy produced during the expansion process is shared by the compressor, thus significantly reducing energy consumption. This feature allows us to reduce energy consumption by 30%, as compared to conventional systems.

Open refrigeration cycle
In the open circuit, the air to be cooled is drawn directly from the machine. This excludes the need for an evaporator in the cold room with the fans. The saves the evaporator in the cold room with the fans, the defrosting and the driving temperature gradient. This is the most efficient way to cool air.
As standard in an open refrigeration circuit, we include our humidity extraction device. Thus, all moisture will be automatically removed by our system.
Closed refrigeration cycle
The closed circuit can be operated as an indirect system with the inert gas nitrogen (N2). This has the advantage that it shields the area to be cooled and does not react with the substances to be cooled. We are happy to advise you personally with selecting a heat-exchanger for your applications.

Storing food at -60°С stops all intra-cellular biochemical processes and denaturation of proteins, doesn’t damage tissue cells and prevents the formation of large ice crystals as it occurs at -18°C.
The advantages of properly freeze-dried products are that they do not need refrigeration and can be stored at ambient temperatures. A freeze-dried product retains its original nutritional value, texture, product shape, and taste. It is the fresh product with just the water removed – and nothing added.
MIRAI Cold refrigeration machines are compatible with any industrial process due to safety of the refrigerant, lack of the oil in the system and exceptional reliability of the system.
Cryotherapy is mostly used in an effort to help relieve muscle pain, sprains and swelling after soft tissue damage (sport) or surgery and to improve recovery after sports activities that require temperatures from – 100°C down to – 160°C.
